Your Counselling Sessions
Deciding to seek counselling
At Affinity Counselling, I understand that deciding to participate in counselling can be challenging. It can feel frightening, overwhelming and risky. When looking for a counsellor, it can be hard to know what kind of person and approach will be helpful. Trust your gut and instincts through the process of contacting a therapist, speaking with them over the phone, and during your first session with them. Your gut and instincts will guide you in making the right choice for you.
Contacting me
If you decide to contact me through this website, I will arrange through email for us to have a half-hour telephone conversation for you to check me out, ask any questions, and share whatever you feel is important. If you wish to book a session following our contact, we can find a time that suits us both, but there is no obligation and no fees will be charged for this initial contact.
Your first session
After our telephone contact, I will send you all the details you need to participate in your first session. Your first counselling session may flow for up to 90 minutes, giving you time to share your experiences and challenges, as well as check out my presence and the counselling spaces. The fee for your first session and subsequent sessions is £45.
Session fees and time frames
All counselling sessions are changed at £45 per session. The time frame of your counselling session is, to some extent, set by you. Although it is traditional to keep a session to an hour, this does not suit all people. Some people want less time, and some people need more. Your system will tell us what works, and we will stick to that each week.
Contracts and Privacy Notice
There is no obligation for you to participate in the counselling sessions that you have booked with me, but I ask you to cancel your sessions with as much notice as possible.
As the client, any information you provide to me, either written or verbal, is protected by my confidentiality commitment and GDPR.
